    Safety missing

Just received my used used used and abused tippy 98 and looks like it's going to be great fun to use but the safety button is missing.
There is a safety in the spares kit I got with it but that is far too long - suppose it is from a different model.

Is it a requirement for markers to have a safety at places like YPC or will it be ok as long as I have a sock on the end?

Normally a good option to de-gas em too or switch off electros - known paint go through barrel socks before

You don't need to de gas mech guns just de cock them, pull the trigger while holding the cocking arm and let it slide forward and the gun will be de cocked.

98's have a tendency to loose the safety's!
A on off ASA is a good investment but some guns (not sure about the 98's) hold enough air in for one shot after the bottle has been removed
But as BOD says decocking them is fool proof just take the hopper off before re-cocking it otherwise you might double load it.
