I know I'm noob butis it screwed?

    Hi I'm new to this,
Just bought an a5 and the guy in shop filled a bottle for me the gauge said 3. I got it home realising I haven't picked up any paint like a moron but went ahead and test fired maybe four or five shots. Before removing bottle. Couple of days later I put bottle on again to try and set the response trigger after maybe 10 to 15 shots I seemed to be out of gas or somthing seemed to just be quietly blowing gas out of the barrel maybe with the strength you can blow breath out. Just wondering is this normal when being low on gas or have I screwed my marker before even christening it with paint. Only problem I have now is cant get a fill til ypc walkon at end of month and if my guns screwed I'd rather get it fixed before then. Only access I can get to gas before then would be to buy and adapter for disposable co2 canisters Which buy the way I'm also wondering would the adapter work with sodastream canisters.

Sounds like you have a air leak which is usually caused by a damage or missing seal (on the gun)
However seen as you seem to of lost allot of ait before hand your bottle may be leaking also.
Take it back to the shop and ask them to look at it unless you are confident enough to do it yourself.

Well been out and had 1st paint through marker. Didn't even get through 150 balls before felt somthing funny in trigger ,response trigger stopped doing its thing and back to air blowing out of the barrel again. Feeling of disappointment is immense. Still going to go to walkon but might have to borrow one of the loan guns.

Personally i wouldn't put oil in a ASA because depending on the oil it can ignite.
Obviously ime sure BZ wont of used such a oil as they are a good bunch.

But yes like I said before sounds like you have a seal gone.
The A5 is pretty easy to work on and plenty of tutorials on you tube.
Strip it down check all the seals and lube it up that should solve ya problem.

Take it back and get them to swap it for a new one. There is nothing worse than having no confidence in a gun from the minute you buy it.

Yep looks like next day off bundle kids in car and head up there. Hoping to swap for a new one or if its possible with them maybe choose a different marker in same price range.

Re: I know I'm noob butis it screwed?

The oil in the ASA thing is a good general maintence trick, no worrys about it igniting, what happens is you gas it up and the pressure from the bottle pushes the oil through the marker, it naturally encounters any seals that may be involved in a leak on the way through. All you have to do is drip it into the ASA and fire a few times with no paint and no barrel.

The igniting problem is if you oil the fill nipple on your bottle and push oil into the bottle that way, or, given tichgamer's air rifle background he maybe worrying about an effect known as dieseling that can occur in spring powered air guns if you're over zealous with oil on the spring - can't happen in a paint marker since the air's already compressed in the bottle.

Re: I know I'm noob butis it screwed?

Phoned bz the guy reckons it could simply be as I started to run low on gas the pressure wasn't enough to close the valve properly. Said no problem to take it back to em but if I wanted to take to walk on run it on full fill and see if still having problems 1st that's ok. Think I will just try it at walkon 1st or I'm gonna be spending more on fuel than paint soon. Worst case scenario Il need to rent a marker for the day which although not ideal I still get to sling paint at folks.
